Social imaginaries and ecotourism currently play a key role in the sustainable transformation of our environments, being of great relevance to stop extractive actions and high socio-environmental vulnerability. This article, through the case of the riverside of the city of Rosario and the wide Paraná delta in Argentina, aims to critically investigate the role of social imaginaries in the development of tourism policies and guidelines based on the revaluation of heritage and territorial sustainability. Through qualitative case study research, the aim is to interpret socio-territorial processes and phenomena. The Paraná delta and Rosario's central riverbank are a representative area for the revaluation of cultural, building and natural heritage in recent decades, and their social imaginaries currently have a fundamental potential to halt the processes of destruction of the delta's biodiversity due to extensive intentional fires that have increased rapidly in recent years. In this context, ecotourism is considered to contribute to increasing knowledge and the affective link with the environment, enabling the development of sustainable and integral practices between culture and nature.
